Pittsburgh, PA – IAM Robotics and TREW announce a collaboration to integrate robotics into traditional material handling and order fulfillment operations. The combination of automated piece-picking and conventional material handling software and hardware provides a completely automated fulfillment solution. The two companies will be highlighting their collaboration during ProMat, taking place at McCormick Place in Chicago April 8-11, 2019.

“Labor continues to be a major limiting factor in ecommerce and omnichannel order fulfillment operations and we see our customers impacted by the labor shortage dilemma every day,” shares Chris Arnold, President and COO of Trew. “Integrating autonomous robots with traditional material handling replaces manual ecommerce pick modules with a quick ROI. Organizations then achieve the flexibility and scalability needed to gain a competitive advantage in ecommerce fulfillment,” added Joel Reed, CEO of IAM Robotics.

IAM Robotics’ Swift System provides autonomous robotic retrieval and fulfillment solutions for supply chains. The Swift System combines an autonomous robot (Swift), an autonomous transport robot (Bolt), integrated enterprise software (SwiftLink), and a high-performance dimensioning system (Flash) to train Swift to meet the demands of e-commerce and distribution. Swift can work alone for smaller facilities, or as a fleet for larger operations. With a hot-swappable battery capable of supporting 10 or more hours of continuous operation, each robot can pick across three shifts with virtually no interruption.

TREW’s SmartMoves WX® Warehouse Execution System (WES) provides the ability to communicate with the Swift System to provide seamless fulfillment operations in a distribution center. TREW’s Hilmot motorized driven roller (MDR) conveyor provides an energy efficient solution for carton and tote conveyance to pick modules and packout stations.

IAM Robotics, a TREWPartner, will display a static Swift robot in TREW’s booth S-4875 at ProMat. IAM Robotics, booth S-4679, will have a full demo available with TREW Hilmot MDR conveyor integrated into the solution.
