Earlier this year, IAM Robotics was named a Tech 50 Awards Finalist in the Innovator of the Year: AI/Robotics Category by the Pittsburgh Technology Council. The Tech 50 Awards are hosted annually to honor the Pittsburgh technology community and to celebrate the impact these companies are making around the world. This marks the 23rd year for Tech 50, and the second year that IAM Robotics has been named a finalist.
According to the PTC, they canvass the region for the most distinguished public and private technology-oriented companies. The Tech 50 Awards then honor those companies that demonstrate the strongest growth and advancement in product or sales success, corporate citizenship, job growth and retention, industry achievement and innovative product or technology.
“We are proud to be part of the Pittsburgh robotics ecosystem, and to be recognized by the Pittsburgh Technology Council community for making an impact, is a testament to the work we do,” said Tom Galluzzo, Founder and CEO of IAM Robotics.
This year’s award ceremony for Tech 50 was held on September 25, at the Wyndham Grand Hotel, during which the category leaders for the 2019 Tech 50 Awards were announced. The awards represent transformative technology centers of excellence with tech companies at all stages of growth.
The Innovator of the Year in AI/Robotics award was presented to Bossa Nova Robotics, the leading provider of real-time, on-shelf product data for the global retail industry. Bossa Nova robots navigate the retail ecosystem, collecting data that allows retailers to optimize the omnichannel shopping experience. Its multidisciplinary team of robotics, artificial intelligence and big data scientists has solved the challenges to deploy fully autonomous retail service robots and deliver actionable data in real-time.
IAM Robotics President, Joel Reed offers “Congratulations to Bossa Nova for being named the Pittsburgh Tech Council Tech 50 Award winner for AI/Robotics. A well-deserved honor for our friends in the industry.” He goes on to say, “We are thrilled to be recognized by the local technology community and the Pittsburgh Technology Council for the impact we are making through robotics. Being a Finalist is a great honor for our team who is committed to delivering new and innovative solutions to the industry.”
